Hurricane Irene and Hurricane Sandy hit the New England coastline in 2011 and 2012 respectively and caused extensive damage to structures near the coast. Cianci Engineering, LLC investigated a significant number of damaged residential and commercial structures along the Connecticut and New York coast and rendered opinions on the extent of damage caused by wave action versus the damage caused by wind and wind driven rains. We prepare and render opinions on the scope of work required to restore a damaged structure to its pre-loss condition, along with the additional scope of work, if required, to comply with the current building codes, including the recently revised flood and building code requirements for structures within flood zones.
